From August 27th to September 26th the North Wales Society of Fine Arts will be exhibition at the beautiful Penrhyn Castle in Bangor. I have had five of my works chosen for inclusion in this event and I am in very good company, the standard is very high. I am really pleased to have had the news that all 4 of my entries have been juried in to the UKCPS 2010 Main Exhibition. This is a wonderful exhibition which just seems to get better every year with a very high standard of work shown so it makes me very happy to know I have achieved the standard required. My entries are The Lady Painted, Stonechat, In Velvet and Stornoway crow.

This years exhibition is being held at the Stamford Arts Centre in Stamford, Lincolnshire from Monday 13th September to Friday 1st October 2010.
For more information you can visit www.stamfordartscentre.com and take a look at their gallery page.

What fantastic news I have had this week. My picture "In Velvet has been juried into one of the biggest exhibitions for wildlife artists.
The NEWA exhibition, National Exhibition of Wildlife Art is an open annual exhibition based in the North of England and is quite prestigious. There will be many famous names so I am in very good company.

June 2010
In June I travelled to the Isle of Lewis on the western coast of Scotland to hold a coloured pencil workshop for the Stornoway art group.
Right from meeting the members I was made most welcome and I had a wonderful time throughout. Their enthusiasm and skill was great to see and some beautiful works were created over the course of the workshop.
"Hi Jo, we just want to thank you for the wonderful workshop you held for us. We are all fired up to get some serious coloured pencil artwork done. We all enjoyed our time with you both at the evening demonstration and the all day workshop. Many, many thanks, Best regards Rose"

May 2010
I submitted 5 of my best works to the panel of the NORTH WALES SOCIETY OF FINE ART with a view to becoming a member. Society membership is by selection, the criterion being the quality of the work in its artistic conception and technique.

I am pleased to say that they considered my work of a high enough standard. The Society was formed by professional artists in 1990 to provide them with much needed exhibition space, and to promote new talent, especially in the figurative arts.

I look forward to working with like minded artists and exhibiting with them later in the year.

During the first 3 months of 2010 I will be exhibiting a series of bird paintings at the Newport Wetlands RSPB centre.
This nature reserve offers a haven for wildlife on the edge of the city, but is a great place for people too with a new RSPB visitor centre, a café, shop and children's play area. (Coffee Shop open 10 am to 4 pm).
Why not have a great day out and see some art as well.
