While I am happy to do commissions, this can only be done from good photographs. The more photos, the better as I can see different things from different angles and poses.
If your photographs are not suitable I will be unable to do your pet justice.
A good photo should, preferable have been taken outside or in good light to make sure colours are accurate.
Also, it is important to take the photo at the same height as the animal itself to ensure there is little photographic distortion. A blurry image is no help in creating a portrait full of detail.
As I work on any commission I can post scans to you via email so you can keep track of the progress of your portrait. This means any problems or changes needed can be spotted early in the process making things easier.
Once you are happy with the portrait, the work is sent securely to yourself. By agreement, it can be mounted ready for framing or can be framed ready to hang.
As coloured pencil is a time consuming media it is hard to work in very large sizes, also prices depend on background required and how many subjects in the picture. Therefore, it helps to talk things over to find the best solution and price. Prices start at £150 for a 10 x 12 portrait, mounting and framing extra.
To discuss your pet portrait, simply email me at email@example.com sending your favourite photos.
I will edit your pictures if necessary, and email suggested compositions back to you.
Once you are happy, I will get on with the portrait and keep you informed until completion.
Please note, although I am only showing mostly dogs here, I am happy to work on other animals.
