Karen is a fine artist who specialises in pet portraits and wildlife drawings, combining her love of animals with her love of drawing. She works solely from photographs, producing highly detailed drawings in graphite or coloured pencil.
She has been commissioned to do a wide variety of
pet portraits; the most popular being rabbits, cats
and dogs, and has more recently begun a collection
of wildlife studies. She has illustrated a children's
book "King Murray's Royal Tail" by Kathy Smith, with
all proceeds going to rabbit rescue.
|| Stephanie Sekula
My name is Stephanie Sekula and I'm a 17 year old student. I'm currently studying Art, Graphics and Film Studies for my A Levels at college, as well as being a freelance artist. I live near Birmingham in the UK, and I love penguins, travelling, drawing and most of all, my short shorts.
I've been drawing ever since I can remember and I enjoy being creative. Some of my interests include: art; web design; taking photos of anything and everything and doodling my cartoon penguins.
I'm passionate about art. My favourite subject to draw is wildlife, and I started taking commissions for pet portraits in late 2008. I'd say my style of artwork is very traditional and realistic, and I like to work mainly in coloured pencils and graphite pencils, as well as experimenting with pastels and acrylic paints.

Jim Slater started his career as a cartoonist &
book illustrator before redirecting his talents
into the art world. His work has been featured in
numerous & varied publications.
He works exclusively with Karisma pencils by Berol.
His striking pencil illustrations, with a hint of
colour, capture the very essence of the subject
in hand and his work has been exhibited throughout
For many years Jim has specialised in equestrian,
sporting & countryside subjects and is also
a keen conservationist & when time permits,
takes on projects for Conservation Groups & donates his work for free.
Jim prefers to work on his own projects, he does
accept commissions (all subjects considered).
My name is Charlotte Street, I started using coloured pencils a couple of years ago and I've been hooked ever since. I love the range of colours and the detail that is possible with a finely sharpened pencil.
I especially enjoy drawing animals and have recently set up my own pet portrait business in the hope I can build it into a career. I have met some lovely people along the way at various dog shows, competitions and agility classes. I hope to be able to attend quite a few more over the summer months as I enjoy chatting to the owners as much as drawing their pets
